Indeed, I’ve tried something similar @ home, by replacing WIN7 in my tablet with MeeGO and other versions of LINUX.

While MeeGO is quite cool, it is not inteded to normal people, but to OEM’s (the same as Android)… and we don’t have a final product yet (well Nokia’s N9 is coming)

The bottom line is that MS still has the best ability to integrate the quite fragmented PC ecosystem and provide the most functional (variety of functions) result.

Win7 is a lot more stable than Vista, probably as stable as XP, but with a nicer interaction.

Android Phones are rather expensive (Unlocked) to implement in Costa Rica.

I was wondering if they provide ability to upgrade the software and to keep the same level of up-to-date patching of Linux. It seems to me that’s not the case.

There are several Android tablets out there that are not rated higher than 3 out of 5, so not a good choice yet.
